Injury Treatment is well equipped with experienced health professionals and business graduates enabling our services to be sharp, outcome-focused and cost effective for our customers. Every Consultant consistently demonstrates real life experience in their interventions, they are extremely confident and mature; they naturally have the ability to negotiate under pressure and finally demonstrate a “can do” attitude and a genuine interest in providing the service and adding value for our customers.
Injury Treatment’s consultants are selected based on their clinical and occupational rehabilitation expertise. Our clinicians are specialists in physical and psychological injury. This clinical specialisation enables our consultants to address and mitigate the medical barriers to return to work. Given they also all have extensive ‘life experience’, they are also able to manage the psychosocial factors that frequently complicate musculoskeletal injury.
The directors of Injury Treatment have combined experience in the Occupational Rehabilitation industry of 15 years. The directors are Brooke Taylor (Bachelor Occupational Therapy, Graduate Cert in Corporate Management) & Jeremy Keane (Bachelor Physiotherapy and Masters in Business Administration). With approximately seven years in the NSW Occupational Rehab Industry and approximately 3 in Victoria, we have grown to understand the true meaning of quality and that this can only be achieved with exceptional, mature staff. As such, we have we don’t employ any new graduates, a common recruitment strategy in this industry. A major source of advantage exists in the extensive combined industry experience of our management team and our high calibre Consultants.
Ms. Brooke Taylor

Ms. Brooke Taylor originally qualified as an Occupational Therapist in Melbourne before completing her post graduate management training. Ms. Taylor is one of the Creators and Directors of Injury Treatment.
Ms. Taylor has worked as a rehabilitation consultant, operational manager, business development manager and account manager for a large national rehabilitation provider before creating Injury Treatment in 2005. Her primary reason for the creation of Injury Treatment was to promote her underlying passion for quality. Ms Taylor has extensive experience in occupational rehabilitation services in the Victorian, NSW, Queensland, ACT and Comcare jurisdictions now for over 8 years.
Mr. Jeremy Keane

Mr. Keane (B. Physio, MBA) originally qualified as a physiotherapist in Melbourne. More recently he completed a Masters in Business Administration at Melbourne Business School and is one of the Creators and Directors of Injury Treatment.
Mr. Keane’s clinical background boasts extensive sports and musculo-skeletal clinical physiotherapy. Following approximately 5 years clinical experience, Mr. Keane then joined the Occupational Rehabilitation industry and brings over 8 years medical and rehabilitation experience.
Ms. Jan Smith

Ms Jan Smith has over 20 years working in a rehabilitation environment both in workers compensation and compulsory third party. Ms Smith’s Worker’s Compensation experience extends across both public and private organizations including self insurance and national management roles within the insurance industry. Originally, qualified as a nurse and more recently completing qualifications in psychology including a Masters in Organisational Psychology, she is well placed to provide expertise in a diverse range of complex cases where relationships are compromised.
Ms Smith has more recently been involved in several health and well being projects including management of chronic pain and stress minimization – resilience building to improve overall health outcomes and productivity of employees.
Mrs Noni Byron

Ms Byron is a registered psychologist, who graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology and B. Science (Psychology). Noni is the Operations Manager for Injury Treatment Different Employer, Psychological Treatment and Medico Legal Services. Noni has extensive experience in management and human resources combined with over 8 years experience in the development of and provision of workplace rehabilitation services (both private and government based rehabilitation) including initial needs assessments, vocational assessments, transferable skills analysis, job match assessment, wage analysis / earning capacity / total permanent disability (TPD) assessments, Section 40 assessments, medico legal assessment, vocational counseling, vocational redirection and job placement services and psychological assessment and treatment.
Mrs. Tara Messiter

Ms. Messiter’s clinical expertise combined with her attention to detail and passion to make a difference has kept her in the industry for over 12 years. She is extraordinary in empowering people to make behavioural changes which in turn result in outcomes for all stakeholders involved. An area of interest for Ms. Messiter is the provision of health lifestyle Programs and nutritional and dietary advice.
Ms. Fiona Condie
Physiotherapist
Since qualifying as a Physiotherapist in 1987, Ms. Condie has gained 18 years of experience working within the physiotherapy field. This experience includes time spent working within both public and private institutes and involves Orthopaedics, Neurology, Paediatrics and her main area of interest has been the Musculoskeletal area. Ms. Condie has a particular interest in human movement, and has been involved in the development and instruction of movement and therapeutic exercise classes during the last 5 years. Ms. Condie provides exceptional programs for the long-term injured and unemployed with an underlying focus on restoring normal patterns of movement, improving posture and strength, improving ADL’s and most importantly returning clients to the pre-injury positions of employment.
Mr. Robert Daking
Physiotherapist
Mr Daking is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with extensive clinical experience in the public and private sector. After graduating in 2000, Mr Daking has worked in a number of large teaching hospitals in the UK and New Zealand leading a number of musculoskeletal out-patient departments. Further education in manipulative / sports physiotherapy has allowed Mr Daking to work as an expert in the assessment of both spinal and peripheral musculoskeletal conditions. Mr Daking has experience in managing the provision of work conditioning services and occupational rehabilitation services to major NSW insurers, manual handling education to prevent and manage injuries in employees, pre-employment medicals and functional capacity assessments.
Ms. Jenny Robinson
Physiotherapist
Ms. Robinson graduated from her physiotherapy degree in 1997 and commenced private practice injury management before entering the NSW workers compensation industry. Ms. Robinson has exceptional clinical expertise and her passion to help others has afforded her a successful career in the occupational industry for the past 7 years. Ms. Robinson’s customers’ truly value her expertise and levels of motivation when getting the long term injured and un-employed back to work. As such, she is regularly in demand which encourages her to continue to deliver well above the WorkCover benchmarks.
Ms. Juliet Maynard
Physiotherapist / Ergonomist
Ms. Maynard is an ergonomist and physiotherapist, she holds a Graduate Certificate in Ergonomics and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy). She has over 14 years experience working in private practice, occupational physiotherapy and ergonomics in Australia and the UK. Juliet has worked extensively in occupational health and rehabilitation across different industries including administration, call centres, warehousing, hospitals, printing, motor vehicle servicing and manufacturing.
Ms. Monica Ahluwalia
Exercise Physiologist
Ms. Monica Ahluwalia is an Exercise Physiologist and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Sport & Exercise Science). She has over 3 years experience working in private practice and occupational health in Australia and Dubai. Ms. Ahluwalia has had over 5 years experience in corporate health and fitness, and has worked with major companies to implement and deliver work place health programs. Ms. Ahluwalia is experienced at identifying and preventing injuries within a variety of workplaces through assessment and exercise rehabilitation.
Ms. Joanne Russell
Exercise Physiologist
Ms. Joanne Russell is an accredited exercise physiologist with over 4 years of occupational rehab experience, including training & consulting. Prior to joining Injury Treatment Ms. Russell spent 3 years as a Senior Injury Manager with large NSW Employer. Ms. Russell is a specialist case manager who is extremely experienced in high level case conferencing & negotiation with all parties including the injured worker, employer & NTD. Ms. Russell is experienced in the provision of case management and one off services.
Ms. Phoebe Harpham
Occupational Therapist
Ms. Harpham has completed a Bachelor in occupational Therapy and joined Injury Treatment following extensive experience in the provision of rehabilitation services in the NSW CTP market. Phoebe has over 4 years of experience in the provision of rehabilitation case management services. Ms. Harpham is experienced in the provision of high quality case management services aimed at delivering consistent outcomes for her customers and also has extensive experience in the delivery of ADL assessment services.
Mr. Ian Wilkinson
Physiotherapist
Mr Wilkinson graduated as a physiotherapist in 2000 at the University of Otago and has worked in a variety of musculo-skeletal roles in Sydney, New Zealand and London over the past eight years. Ian has also developed his clinical skills through the completion of a number of courses including spinal manipulation, kinetic control, McKenzie diagnosis, sacro-iliac joint management, myofacial release and shoulder joint diagnosis and rehabilitation.
Mr Wilkinson's key skills lie in musculoskeletal manual therapy and orthopaedic physiotherapy. He has developed these skills through extensive clinical experience in New Zealand, England and Sydney. Ian works with Injury Treatment in the combined role of Optimise physiotherapist and occupational rehabilitation consultant.
Mr. Michael Sainsbury
Physiotherapist
Michael Sainsbury (B.App.Phty; Grad.Dip.OHS) is a physiotherapist and OHS professional with extensive experience in musculoskeletal injury management across both public and private sectors. Michael has provided services within the workers’ compensation systems of Queensland, NSW and Victoria. Michael has worked as an OHS consultant within a range of industries including meat and poultry processing, printing, whitegoods manufacturing, steel distribution, automotive, disability services and local, state and commonwealth government. Michael has also developed and presented OHS training, including lecturing in the ergonomics, safety and health program at LaTrobe University in Melbourne. Michael’s professional interests include the health management of an ageing workforce.
Dr. Mark Stewart
Physiotherapist
Dr Mark Stewart (PhD MPH (Hons) BAppSc (Phty) Grad Cert (Higher education) MAPA) is a principal physiotherapist at Kensington Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic with over 15 years clinical experience. Dr. Stewart is the author of 8 peer reviewed publications focussing on spinal assessment, treatment and whiplash. Particular areas of interest include chronic spinal pain, functionally-based rehabilitation programs, objective functional assessment and exercise. His doctorate involved an investigation into exercise based treatments for persons with chronic whiplash. Dr Stewart acts as a consultant for both the Motor Accidents Authority of NSW and the Trauma and Recovery Centre in South Australia to develop guidelines for the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of whiplash. Dr. Stewart has worked as a lecturer at the School of Physiotherapy, University of Sydney where he still gives invited lectures.
Mrs. Angela Bell
Physiotherapist
Angela graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1992 and obtained a post-graduate certificate in Ergonomics from the Robens Institute in the United Kingdom in 1995. Angela has over 15 years experience as a clinician and in Occupational Health, specifically specializing in Ergonomics and Manual Handling in both Australia and United Kingdom. Angela has worked across a variety of sectors including, the Health Service, Finance, Telecommunications, Military, Education and Government. Angela was a guest lecturer in ‘patient moving and handling’ for the Occupational Therapy Program or Middlesex University, United Kingdom and a speaker at the 2007 ‘Patient Moving and Handling Conference’, London.
Ms. Emma Whittle
Physiotherapist
Ms. Whittle graduated as a physiotherapist in 2003 at The University of Liverpool in the UK. For the last 4 years Miss Whittle has specialised in musclo-skeletal physiotherapy. Her background was initially in large public London teaching hospitals and private community physiotherapy. She has worked within NHS hospital based out-patients, In-patient Orthopaedics, Private Community Out-patients including 1:1 Pilates sessions, Lone Practitioner GP working, Fracture Clinic examination and assessment, A+E Clinic examination and assessment, Class based exercise therapy (inc: Shoulder rehabilitation and Spinal Stability) and Hydrotherapy.
Ms. Whittle is a passionate and enthusiastic physiotherapist with a strong, clinical, manual therapy background. She has developed a keen interest in orthopaedic medicine, biomechanics, sports injuries, exercise rehabilitation and Pilates through the completion of post-graduate courses. Ms Whittle works with Injury Treatment on their Optimise and Activait programmes as well as conducting both Functional and Work Place Assessments.
Mrs. Renée Gibbs
Physiotherapist
Renée Gibbs is a senior Occupational Therapist with an extensive career in injury management and OHS. Renée originally graduated from her undergraduate OT degree in WA and has subsequently completed a Diploma in OHS Management. Renée initially developed her passion for ‘enabling people to work’ when she was employed to place, train and support disabled adults into paid employment. Following this, Renée commenced her career in Injury Management as a Rehabilitation Consultant with Work-Link in Western Australia.
Renée then moved to the UK where she worked initially as a clinical OT in the NHS and then at AIG in their in-house rehabilitation department. Following this, Renée, together with 3 other professionals, started a health consulting company named HCML. In her role as a Director at HCML she was primarily responsible for the clinical management and direction of HCML’s rehabilitation services. Renee was also integral in the strategic direction of the business which enabled the organisation to grow from a team of 4 in 2003 to a company which now employs over 130 people across 3 offices in the UK.
Ms. Prinola Gurie
Physiotherapist
Ms Gurie is a registered Physiotherapist holding a Masters degree in Physiotherapy and a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. Prinola is the Strategist for Injury Treatment working predominantly on the Activait programme. Having worked in the industry for over 10 years, Prinola has extensive experience as a clinical Physiotherapist in private practice ; a rehabilitation consultant/injury management advisor in a local manufacturing and distribution environment ; as well as experience as a lecturer of Physiotherapy in South Africa.
Her main area of interest is the management of musculosketal disorders resulting from acute trauma, and occupational overuse injuries in the workplace. Her skill base includes providing initial, functional and worksite assessments (including the identification of suitable duties and development of goal directed return to work plans), work conditioning programmes, case conferencing to facilitate upgrades, developing and delivering task specific manual handling and ergonomic workshops. Her applied knowledge and experience as a Physiotherapist compliments her focus on assisting employers and insurers alike to manage workplace injuries cost effectively and timelessly.
Ms. Michelle Munro
Rehabilitation Counsellor
With training in Psychology and Post Graduate studies Rehabilitation Counselling and over 15 years experience in the occupational rehabilitation field, Ms. Munro possesses superior experience in the case management and return to work of complex cases; specifically psychological work related injuries. Ms. Munro has experience in legislation involves extensive work within the NSW WorkCover Scheme, COMCARE, CTP and Income Protection/Life Insurance arenas. Ms Munro is also an expert in the conduction of Section 40 Assessments, and Medicolegal work. Ms Munro has demonstrated excellence in the management of comprehensive long-term claims and all aspects of job seeking and placement. Ms. Munro has 15 years experience in managing tail claims.
Ms. Annele Schoeffel

With over 30 years industry experience, Ms. Schoeffel is an extremely motivated, resourceful, reputable and experienced Industry Consultant. She has exceptional expertise in professional coaching, consultancy and training which she has acquired throughout her career in the human resources, injury management and rehabilitation industries. Ms. Schoeffel is experienced and knowledgeable with all aspects of the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme, Claimant Entitlements; Premium Calculations and Stakeholder Responsibilities. Ms. Schoeffel’s underlying capabilities include: Executive coaching and mentoring; Workplace mediation and dispute resolution; Leadership and management development; individual and group learning programs; Workshop design and delivery / Skills assessment, career transition and outplacement.
Mr. Justin Court

Mr. Court has extensive experience in recruitment, executive coaching and career counselling. Through this experience he has developed skills in coaching through performance enhancement and career progression strategies focused primarily on enabling mid career transition. Mr. Court’s skills lie predominantly in:

Ms. Rajna Motika
Psychologist
Ms. Motika is a Registered Psychologist who graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science. She has excellent experience across the areas of the Australian Government Job Placement Employment and Training (JPET) and Personal Support Programme (PSP) as both a psychologist and a case manager and has experience conducting vocational assessments. Ms. Motika has extensive experience in the delivery of psychological interventions, individual counseling, and case management to long term unemployed clients presenting with a range of personal difficulties such as; mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, grief and loss, domestic violence, abuse, anger management difficulties, family/relationship matters, substance abuse, suicidal behavior/ideation, confidence/self esteem and limited employment history. In addition she is able to perform case management duties which include liaising with a broad range of stake holders to facilitate effective economic or social outcomes.
Mr. Bill Ada

Mr. Ada is a registered psychologist with over 8 years experience in varied settings including workplace rehabilitation, clinical and occupational psychology, management consulting, human resource development, recruitment and career coaching. Most recently, Mr. Ada has worked as a Senior Rehabilitation Consultant role with a National Rehabilitation Provider. Mr. Ada’s skill profile includes:
• Over 6 years experience in clinical, occupational and rehabilitation psychology settings with strengths in cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychometric testing, profiling, and reporting skills.

Mr. Peter O’Brien
PsychologistPeter is a registered psychologist with over 9 years experience working in both a clinical, rehabilitation and occupational rehabilitation psychology setting. Peter completed his studies at the University of Sydney in 1999.

Dr. Scott Byrne
Consultant Sports Physician Dr. Burne (MBBS MSpMed BSc FACSP) works as a Medical Consultant with Injury Treatment. He manages all acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, as well as all medical problems that arise from (or are complicated by) exercise. Workplace injuries and illnesses form a regular aspect to his work. Consultations include a complete history and examination, followed by an evidence-based management plan. When referring, Dr. Burne recommends the services of highly-regarded colleagues in medical and paramedical fields.
Dr Burne is Team Doctor for the Opals Australian Women’s Basketball (2004 Athens Olympic Games, 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2006 World Championships) and will continue this involvement at The 2008 Beijing Olympics. In addition, he is a Team Doctor for the Balmain Tigers Rugby League. Previous sports coverage also includes NSW Rugby Union (state juniors, Sydney Grade and Colts), Australian Rugby League (Canberra Raiders, Wests Tigers), State Cricket and National Athletics. In 2000 Dr Burne worked as Medical Officer for the Sydney Olympic Games, Sydney Paralympic Games, and The Arafura Games in 1998. He also worked for 12 years with the Australian Defence Force. He is a Visiting Fellow of the UNSW Sports Medicine Programs, an internationally renowned post-graduate course for doctors.
