Groin

Groin, hamstring and knee injuries are among the most common injuries sustained by sportsmen and women. Most groin pain results from musculotendinous injuries, however, not all groin pain signifies simply a pulled muscle or strained tendon. The pain can originate from one or more musculoskeletal or non-musculoskeletal origins. Some of the major causes include osteitis pubis, muscle strain or hernia.

While acute causes such as muscle strains are often easily identified, chronic groin pain that slowly worsens over a long period of time can present quite a challenge to doctors and physiotherapists with regard to diagnosis.
