Injury Treatment’s functional assessors are known as providing the highest quality intervention available in the industry. With clinical experience in the management of musculo-skeletal, neurological and cardiovascular injuries, Injury Treatment’s consultants are able to provide reasoned recommendations on an employees capacity to perform the physical demands of certain duties which is aligned with the underlying pathology and tissue and physiological limits. We ensure this level of quality through the recruitment of experienced consultants who possess the ability to clinically reason their recommendations. These recommendations are aligned with the injured employee’s presentation including the correct diagnosis, presenting signs and symptoms, subjective and objective findings. The employee’s physical ability is then matched to the physical demands of their role to ensure their future return to work is both achievable and sustainable.
Due to our experience in managing functional assessments, the information and recommendations provided as an outcome of our assessment allow all stakeholders to determine the worker’s capacity to perform particular roles (same employer or different employer, same job or different job) and whether the injury and prognosis allows further progression with treatment.
All findings provided from the assessments are communicated to all stakeholders with the view to assisting the injured person in their return to work wherever possible. GP case conferences are a common request following a functional assessment given that the detail provides the nominated treating doctor additional, specific information that assists in providing the worker with a medical certificate aligned with the worker’s physical capacity.
Our functional assessments can be performed at a workplace, our offices or a local facility and the assessment can be tailored to meet the requirements of any referral.
